A more than 1100 km long network of hiking trails awaits you around the Posthotel. Embedded in the hilly landscape of the Danube valley.

As a true lover of nature and hiking, you will get your money's worth, especially in the Jura - whose landmarks are rugged rock formations and natural river valleys. The adjacent Bavarian Forest, with its mountains and valleys, is a true Eldorado for all environmental explorers.

Directly in Donaustauf are 3 circular hiking trails – also ideal for Nordic Walking.

The well-known Danube cycle path "Tour de Baroque" crosses Donaustauf in the southern part of the city and is only approx. 100 m away from the hotel. Enjoy cycling along the blue Danube . Short detours to the Walhalla or the castle ruins of Donaustauf are rewarded with a breathtaking view over the Danube valley.

In the district of Regensburg, the approx. 45 km long Danube Cycle Path not only invites you to cycle, but also to go jogging or inline skating along the Danube. The cycle path stretches along the longest river in Central Europe, from Germany through Austria all the way to Hungary.
